So what is reportage photography or
photojournalism?
Well, it’s a way of creating
natural image
photographs without
interfering with the subject.
Reportage photography is to try to photograph somebody without them really being aware of you. Natural image and real photographs. I have always aimed to photograph in this way, trying to show people who look at my pictures what the atmosphere was like, I try to take candid pics to bring out the character of the person in the picture.
I am offering this method of photography for your celebration event. My aim is to record your day in beautiful, natural photographs so you can enjoy your celebration without posing for the pictures. I don’t normally take group photographs as I feel these are too staged and often very time consuming and boring for the people involved, its far better to try and capture the natural image.
Instead my time is spent looking for candid pics
to get real photographs
that happen during your celebration, leaving you
time to enjoy it.
Before I book any celebration, occasion or event. I have found it is always best to meet and discuss your requirements and it gives me the chance to explain how I will approach photographing your event.
Every occasion is different, every customer is unique.
My role is to make sure that you get what you want from your day. To tell the story of your celebration as it unfolds with creative pictures that capture the real fun, romance and feeling of the moment.
I have found more and more people are interested in less formal relaxed reportage style photography for their special occasion or event, These are candid and un-posed photographs capturing each special moment.
Some of the important milestones we photograph include anniversaries and birthday parties. We honour the historical aspects of these events in your life - your family history. We make sure we have good photographs, photojournalistic and candid images that record the events and capture the flavour of the day.
I only do a few Celebrations/events in a year. This is deliberate, and is designed to keep my clients' images fresh. I believe that my clients should enjoy their day and not feel that the photographer "took over". My role is to provide a story book of the day's events. Posed pictures will be kept to a minimum, or not taken at all, where clients prefer it.
