Slideshow tutorial, how to make a slideshow interesting to the viewers.

Like most people, you've probably got old pictures scattered around, with photos in different scrapbooks and photo albums, your computer hard drive may have photos that you've forgotten about, if you look in your drawers you may find some old films to be developed, an old shoe box, the odd memory card here and there which may be full of forgotten pics. If you're wondering what to do with it all, how about making a slideshow with your photos on DVD set to music? It's currently the best way to way to permanently record all these photos, DVDs last up to 100 years.

There are companies like Fotodiscs4u, that will do this for you, or if you want to do it yourself, here is some advice, a slideshow tutorial, about how to make a slideshow.

You will need to use photo slideshow software and digital editing software for your photos.

It's very important when making a slideshow to know who will be watching it. If you are trying tell a story, it's best if you know who you are telling the story to. Knowing your audience will help you decide how many pictures to use, which type of music to include, and how long you want the slideshow to run. Here are a few tips and ideas.

If you're showing your slideshow to lots of people, such as birthday party, wedding reception, anniversary celebration, decide on how best to present it. Will it be a backdrop to a party or will there be time to gather everyone together to sit and watch? If it's left to repeatedly run in the background as a backdrop, you will need to use more photos, this way, people are at ease to watch at their own leisure.

If your slideshow is going to be a feature of your celebration or event, where all the guests gather together to watch the presentation, then limit the length to no more than 4 or 5 music tracks, which will use between 120 to 150 images. This should be short enough to capture peoples emotions without disrupting your event.

If its an intimate showing to a small group, then its best keep it shorter, as in this case small is beautiful, no more than 2 to 3 music tracks using between 60 to 90 photos, perfect for that surprise gift. The best approach to take when putting your photographs in order, is chronological order, which simply means, start with the older photos first and the later ones last, this helps to create nostalgic feel to the photo gallery slideshow.

When making a slideshow, try to use music with great lyrics, you can use favourite songs of the person or people who are featured in the slideshow while also taking into account, nostalgic music from the era of the pictures being shown, which deepens the sense of nostalgia which results in a dynamic slideshow which captures the viewers attention.

The quality of each image example that you choose is very important, do not choose any blurred image, as this can't be improved upon. You will need to pick out your clear pictures that are in focus. You will need to bear in mind that if you have a very dark picture, which you wish to include in the slideshow, it may become "grainy" when you try to lighten it. As far as any photography imaging correction goes, you will have to remove any "red eye", adjust lighting, correct colour, remove spots and blemishes, also improve any scratches on the photos. There is plenty of image editor software available for the photo editing, which accounts for more than half of the work involved.

For great slideshow effect collect any captions, such as "Happy Anniversary", "Happy Birthday" or any personal greetings that are to be included in the slideshow, together with any, birth certificates, newspaper clippings, marriage licences, or academic certificates etc, to be scanned, to add a nice personal touch to your digital photo montage. Consider using pan and zoom or slideshow fade if you want a fading slideshow, with more slideshow effect for a more dynamic slideshow.

Once you have put all the photos in order, scanned and edited them, then you are ready to begin your slideshow.

Hopefully, these tips will be of some help, and I hope you will find after all the hard work, you will be successful.
