Cats tips for cat owners
Cats love sun-bathing but take care, as many are at risk of sun damage, particularly a white cat or pale-coloured pet cats and those with sparse hair on their ears. Most pet cats will find themselves a nice shady spot when the going gets hot, but the best advice is to take extra care of old cats, as they can suffer from heat stroke. Cat won' t eat? Cats do not always want to eat a lot during hot weather, but, if puss seems persistently off his food, the best advice is to have him checked by your vet.
At holiday times, your kitty cat can go to a cattery, but most prefer to be left at home in the care of a cat sitter or reliable friend or family member. Try to arrange that the carer visits the home at least twice a day to feed and water him, and provide some fuss and play.
When it comes to eating or drinking water or milk cats are extremely fussy creatures. Cat feeding bowls, that you serve her food and drink in must be wide enough to not catch the cats whiskers, as cats find this unpleasant, they may pull food out of a bowl that is too narrow, and eat it at the side of the bowl, or your pet cat may stay away from their bowl if it does not suit her.
Cat hair, a furball, otherwise known as cats hairballs are big clumps of cat hair that build up in your cat’s gut which can become large enough to cause coughing and cats vomiting, in an attempt to bring the cat hairballs up. Help to prevent this with regular brushing to remove excess cat hair that your cat might otherwise swallow while grooming. It will help the cats hairballs to pass through the digestive system if you add a little cod liver oil to your pet cats food.
Flea treatment cat. Does my cat have the fleas? Flea symptoms are most commonly noticed in warm weather (spring and summer) but with modern central heating they can be an all year round problem. Your domestic cat may become irritable and scratch, others show no apparent signs of discomfort. Try to find flea treatment for cats and kittens with insect growth regulators (IGRs), which disrupt the cats flea life cycle. Without IGRs, the flea eggs hatch every three weeks, which means you will need to repeat treatments. It also helps to regularly use a cat flea comb.
Cats in heat. Cats symptoms. You know your pet cat is on heat as your cat behavior will change, she will start to roll around on the floor, cats tails may quiver, shows you more more affection than usual and cats cleaning her genital area increases. she will become loud vocally, meowing and wailing a lot, (calling for a mate) this can go on for days and be quite noisy. Your cat will also get into the mating position, which is head down with her rear end in the air with her tail pulled to one side in readiness. Be aware of indoor cats, in this condition she will try to escape at the earliest opportunity. She will come on heat about every three weeks, for up to about a fortnight each time, throughout the warm months of the year, unless she mates, or is spayed.
Here are a few general tips, for photographing pets.
